        GRUPORAGA, S.A.  belongs to the business sector dedicated to integral environmental services, and has wide-ranging experience in providing solutions to environmental problems, park care, and especially comprehensive maintenance of green spaces.  

        With a long tradition in parks and green spaces maintenance, as a wide list of environmental projects under its belt, the company is also concerned with pollution, polluting waste, and general care of the environment.

        The company, which has always been interested in the natural surroundings, is continuously seeking solutions leading to sustainable development and investing in research and development with technologies that improve and restore natural and urban spaces.    

Origin

        In its origin, the group was a group of several companies, all founded around the seventies.
"VIVEROS RAGA,S.A." ,Raga Nurseries, "CONSTRUCCIONES Y CONSERVACIONES RAGA,S.A." ,Raga Constructions, and as well as the the Park Conservation Company, called EMPRESA DE CONSERVACIÓN DE PARQUES, S.A.",  were the most significant, although like now, multiple UTES (Temporary Companies) were founded with the most important construction companies of the country.

        Its activity as Nursery and Gardening Company has changed through out the years, and today, the company can be catalogued as a company dedicated to environment in general.

        In January of 2004 the three companies merged in one, and as a result, the new company was denominated GRUPORAGA, S.A. and since then, they form a group even harder. The group has consolidated definitively, diversifying and developing to new activities and this has supposed a continued growth of the results and the benefits.

The Company's aim

        For several years, the company's aim has been to cover all areas related to the environment. An important part of its activity has been to undertake gardening maintenance work and environmental projects, and this, in turn, has led to the creation of other services related with this sector and now offers a very broad range of national environmental solutions.      

The Activity     

        The activity and main sectors of GRUPORAGA, S.A. can be summed up as follows:

1- Urban services: Conservation, cleaning, and comprehensive maintenance of green spaces, maintenance of infrastructures, street furniture, pavements and road surfaces, road cleaning, collection and transport of waste, and removal and final deposition of sewage sludge.

2- Environmental projects: Gardening and forestry projects, landscape and deteriorated area restoration, silvicultural systems, restoration of dumps, conservation and maintenance of rivers, recycled-water usage projects, and golf courses.

3- Green spaces:  GRUPORAGA, S.A. has been chosen by the City Hall of Madrid to maintain and preserve the Parks and Green Spaces of the city. The zone1 includes 6he districts of Centro, Arganzuela, Retiro, Salamanca, Chamartín, Tetuán and Chamberí, what comes to be the central almond of the city.

4- Nurseries and production: Sale to public and wholesalers, factory production, planting and conservation of species. 

5- Waste treatment: Projects, construction, and operation of waste treatment and recovery, transfer plants, household-waste recycling centres, and dumps.

6-  R + D: Research into new processes in environmental care, generation of clean energy sources, and comprehensive solutions to waste management.

Memberships

        Furthermore, the company is a member of various park and garden associations such as the Spanish Association of Gardening Companies (Aseja), the Spanish Association of Public Gardens and Parks (Aepjp), and the Spanish Association of Water Supply and Sanitation (Aeas). It is also present in many international forums and conferences, all related with the environment.

The present

            GRUPORAGA, S.A. currently has a wide portfolio of clients and employs approximately 700 people. During the present year, it continued its expansion throughout Spain, and there are currently several agencies in Madrid, León, Zaragoza and Zamora (Spain), as well as various projects and maintenance works in other autonomous communities.
